Beautiful new oak designs available in multi-format for the perfect fit

Posted on the 31/08/2020 by Designflooring

We’re delighted to be unveiling our debut multi-format collections with designs available in both a gluedown and rigid core format, as well as introducing an exclusive selection of on-trend herringbone designs.

Designed to offer home designers greater flexibility when selecting the right format to suit the individual needs of their space, it means the same design from our Van Gogh and Rubens ranges can be used throughout the home in either gluedown or rigid core fixing type.

Whilst rigid core is available for quicker installation times and added acoustic benefits, gluedown offers additional design elements such as optional laying patterns, borders and design features.

The new look Van Gogh collection features our most recognised contemporary and classic designs in a standard plank (1219,2 mm x 177,8mm gluedown and 1220,0mm x 180,0mm rigid core), as well as welcoming four designs inspired by a variety European oaks in a larger (1422,4mm x 228,6mm gluedown and 1420,0mm x 225,0mm rigid core) plank and four exclusive 711,0mm x 177,0mm herringbones (711,2mm x 177,8mm gluedown and 708,0mm x 177,0mm rigid core).

Like all our floors, the designs are handcrafted to reflect the intricate beauty of real timber, but Grey Brushed Oak, Neutral Brushed Oak, Warm Brushed Oak and Golden Brushed Oak feature a new, natural wood grain emboss, accentuating the natural texture and aesthetics of the individual wood that inspired it.

There are also four new cool neutral tones – Light Distressed Oak, Natural Prime Oak, Greige Oak and Misty Grey Oak - joining the existing colourways in a (1219,2 mm x 177,8mm gluedown and 1220,0mm x 180,0mm rigid core) plank.

Available from September onwards, Ruben’s popular gluedown designs featuring ten planks (914,4mm x 152,4mm) and four stones (304,8mm x 457,2mm), will also be available in a convenient rigid core fixing type (1220,0mm x 180,0mm wood and 308,0mm x 600,0mm stone).

“As home designers look to us for more flexibility when selecting their floor, we’re excited to be taking our first steps in offering the same beautiful design across multi-formats,” explains Steve Curry, general manager of Designflooring.

He said: “It means those looking for the continuity of the same colourway throughout their home are not restricted to just gluedown, especially if they face the challenge of an uneven subfloor in the next room. “With herringbone being a firm favourite laying pattern, the introduction of our first rigid core herringbone design will open up new design options for renovators looking for enhanced acoustics.

“It will come as no surprise to those who are familiar with our brand, our Van Gogh collection is one of our most popular with a wide palette of cool neutral, grey and warm tones, and we hope our new designs will excite you as much as they do us!”

All our floors are durable, waterproof and compatible with underfloor heating, as well as low in volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and phthalate free.
